  • Maryanne Middler

    Manager/Play Leader

    Hi, I am Maryanne Middler and the I am the Playgroup Manager. My qualifications include an SVQ level 2 and 3 in Early Years Care and Education, an HNC in Social Sciences and an SVQ level 4 in Management. Currently I am working towards my BA in Childhood Practice. I have worked in a variety of Early Years settings and have 5 children of my own. I work on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

  • Nicola Wilkins

    Assistant Play Leader

    Hi, I am Nicola Wilkins, and I am a the Playgroup Assistant Leader and work on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Before joining Torphins Playgroup I worked at Alford Day Nursery. I have 2 children of my own and have currently completed my SVQ level 3 in Early Years Care and Education.

  • Carol Evans

    Support Worker

    Carol joined Torphins Playgroup in February 2017. She has 2 children of her own and has previous experience of working with the Playgroup as both the Treasurer and the Chairperson. She has decided to take on the new challenge of joining the front of house team and is looking forward to progressing with her new career and gaining a Childcare qualification. Carol works on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

  • Lana Howitt

    Support Worker

    I started at Torphins Playgroup in September 2017. I am a mother of two and am very excited to be part of the team! I’m looking forward to gaining an insight into Early Years Care and Education and am also keen to perhaps embark on a formal qualification should the opportunity arise in the future. I will be working on a Thursday and a Friday.

  • Ewa Cruickshank

    Relief Playworker

    I joined the team in September 2017 on an adhoc basis. I am a qualified practitioner and have worked in nurseries and schools for a number of years. I also has children of my own and am very excited to be working with the staff, parents and children at Torphins Playgroup.

Helen Crouch, Aberdeenshire Council Early Years Development Worker at Torphins Playgroup

Hello, I’m Helen Crouch and I am employed by Aberdeenshire Council as a Development Worker for Early Years settings in the local area. I advise and support the staff, helping them make improvement plans so they can provide a quality service to parents and children. I visit Torphins Playgroup several times a year, often helping out in the sessions.

Helen Farquhar, Aberdeenshire Council Early Years Co-ordinating Teacher at Torphins Playgroup

Hello, my name is Helen Farquhar and I am the Early Years Co-ordinating teacher. I have been appointed by Aberdeenshire Council to support staff in local Playgroups and Nurseries with curriculum development and I also work directly with the children to identify learning needs and to add challenge. I visit Torphins Playgroup two or three times a term.
